Something people rarely get to see is Malkin's battle scars. The dragon doesn't want to be seen as someone who is vicious, though through some reluctance on his own part he allows one of his bondmates to hide away those blemishes. The only reason the horn isn't done as well, is because it would take too much magic and last thing he wants is for one of his bondships to die through the lost of energy.
A bondship is a term he uses for the souls of friends he allows into his mind to live out the rest of their lives within him. Considering how many of his bite sized friends have flicker lives (short life spans) he becomes very possessive in keeping them on this earth with him. Whenever one of their bodies is about to fail, he ingests them (by painstakingly getting their permission to do so first) whole into himself. It's a dragon's way of burying his friends, not under the cold dirt but under the warmth of his own scales. His friends will not become worm food.
He has many bondships, which in turn has made him very powerful force... but he rarely chooses to use such powers, cause he risks the lost of his bondmates in the process. How many he has? Well you'd just have to ask him.

Whoa, i never knew that about Malkin, but then again, I hardly know anything about him... I just love that idea though, it's incredibly well thought out. Grawr, sometime I gotta talk to ya about the backgrounds of your characters, it's so much fun to read what you write on them!
