This is somewhat of an older recording which really puts into perspective how long I've been a musician. This was recorded back in 2006 and 9 years later I am still performing at the highest level I can. It's a funny thing, I barely edged it into this ensemble, getting the absolute bare minimum score to get in by like a decimal point. I had just gotten out of high school, I was just turning my life around, and suddenly had made it into this really talented group. At first I felt like I was way over my head playing with musicians who I thought were far better than me, but it actually forced me to improve my ability very quickly. This was literally the first piece I performed with them. Despite the icon, I'm not playing timpani. In this piece I am playing the Orchestra Bells, which play pretty consistently throughout. I switch over to Xylophone for a few moments at 1:57 and 2:27.
