a 'meme' is a term for a trend which spreads through a particular population. Classic examples include those "What are you..." quiz results, surveys, themed art pieces, this, etc. Basically, someone starts something as such and everyone else will find it interesting enough to do the same thing. That's it in a nutshell. XD
