Scarlet macaws are one of my faves. People get them confused with green wing macaws, however Scarlet macaws do not have feathers around their eye like the other two do, instead it is bare and is the most tell tale sign if it's a scarlet macaw, or a cross bred species! I am not sure what the artist was going for with this, but it is still beautiful and the colours and style are amazing. I can't wait to see more beautiful birdies!

:3 I'm glad you found it helpful! Most people aren't aware of it actually. I'm an avid bird lover and I love training parrots all sorts of tricks. And with that comes research! I use to draw them the same as the other macaws, it wasn't until another person that owned one actually told me that they had no eye feathers. Yay passing on info! :3 But this piece is still BEAUTIFUL no matter what. I want to pet him and stroke under his cute beak! ^^
(Worked in a reputable pet store and we had a blue and gold macaw, and he loved kisses. But you don't kiss his beak, he sticks his tongue out the side for kisses! He loves raspberries being blown on his tongue too x3 he's a silly bird!)

Aye, very much - it's a really creative take on an anthropomorphized Macaw (love those huge grabby feet), as well as a very artful display of Shibari. And honestly, you don't actually see males in shibari very much, so that's a cool twist as well. I have a character in GW2 who I've decided is into it, so been looking at a lot more to learn more about it and this sort of stuff is very inspirational. :)
The work is great ~ the wingless birds are really attractive, sexy and beautiful but those paws are majestically intimidating, I imagine they give sharp kicks and are very skilled at picking up things like holding your head while they scratch you ~ I hope their personality is friendly
