Ok, so I'm still in recovery, but I HAD to acknowledge a piece of awesomeness that came in awhile ago before the fame dies down.
So, one day, when I was getting back on my feet, I checked around my LPer list for some entertainment, and noticed one of them finally updated with a new LP, and a full run at that. This game, as one of LPers claimed, was an RPG of sorts where "nobody has to get hurt". One of the duo LPers had supported the game and practically knew most about doing a pacifist run...the other just knew the demo. But, for the first time, I would see a true pacifist run myself, and the game fully. The concept was strange to me...but the game was indie (I think...), I'd never heard of it before, and I trust the LP duo to give me entertainment even if the game wasn't.
I had no idea what journey I was in for.
Or how incredible this unassuming game was. And let me say now, no big spoilers ok everyone? Sure, can mention the characters and all, but don't spoil important things for other people who come here and see this. Let'em have the experience themselves.
I can't spoil everything, of course, since the game is well...the game is very difficult to pin down completely. One decision you make may change something far down the line, or multiple things you do could change an entire section....truth is, I don't think anybody knows for sure all the secrets, routes, and changes in the game (maybe not even it's creator tah!).
The game's basic plot deals with a human falling through this barrier to the underground, where monsters have been living since being cut off from the surface by mankind after a war. And, it's the journey to get home.
This is a game where the journey is everything. The things you do, the people you meet, the experience is what leaves you incredibly fulfilled....guilty....or downright psychotic. It depends on what you do.
You can be a merciful child with intent on forming friendships and mending the wounds of monsters who are just like everyone else.
Or you can be a malicious killer set on devastating everything around you, coming back again and again in a relentless progress of destruction.
Or you can be somewhere in the middle. For a first time, you may make unintentional mistakes. Some may call it out on you, some may remind you of what you have done.
The LP duo just completed a pacifist route (although not a TRUE pacifist route, as they got a neutral ending. BUT they have said they will do a TRUE one (which probably unlocked for defeating the final boss), and possible a genocide route (though I don't know if they'd have the stomach for it...).
And I gotta say, the game is just...again...amazing.
The characters are monsters, yeah. Sure, "I" know one and get it. These guys are just like the people YOU know. They have lives, feelings, homes and relationships. Ok, yeah, sure, a dog might be in the freezer nibbling on one of your relative's bones (skeletons have relatives right...), or might cook like a demon on steroids...but you FEEL for them. You start getting attached.
I didn't play the game, but even just watching, I was loving every character that came up. Nobody seemed annoying or outputting, and every one of them you can delve a little deeper with to understand them. They have personal doubts, consuming pride, and fidgety confidence. Even the "final" boss shows his uncertainty with what he does. You start seeing them all less as NPCs and as true characters you can feel for.
Oh yeah! The music is awesome too! It may not be the high-grade stuff you see in consoles now, but it'll remind you of the older games and such. But, that doesn't mean it isn't epic stuff either. Every tune and BGM sounds great! From the traveling to bosses just...everything is great!
The game stuff? Oh right, that. Well...as said, you can be merciful or despicable. Either route has you going through "bullet hell" combat. Lots of dodging and timing. But you know what? Even THAT is something that isn't stoic. Every encounter brings something new. Sure, most "normal" enemies might have patterns, but every boss has a unique twist that encourages you to think and react differently. Are you suppose to raise those ratings? Are you suppose to be a gentlemen or be flirty? Are you---wait! Dodge that! Now! That was close....
And if you think that even twists can't do it for your gaming mind...I dare you to try the genocide route and take IT'S final boss on and beat it the first time.
The game is epic.
For the reviewers, take a look at metacritic. This game (DEVELOPED BY ONE MAN?! I didn't know it was one guy 0_0), beat out Half-Life 2, which was overly popular for...whatever reason.
It tears at your heartstrings, tests the limit of your reflexes, encourages you to think before you act and wonder of the consequences of what you have done for good or ill.
Sure, it's not for everyone, but that's ok. It doesn't matter. It's a game that's just...a journey worth having. It's littered with humor, to be sure, but it has it's deep parts and makes you care about what's going on.
To be honest, I know I can't do the game justice completely, I just wanted to acknowledge that I just watched a play-through and respect the game for all the things it's done right. I hope the guy who made this does more. It doesn't necessarily have to be Undertale but....to be honest....I can't wait to see if there's a sequel.
So everyone, go check out this game!
If you want to see a pacifist run, check out Ravensdive over on Youtube. The guys are a funny LP pair by themselves (and don't do too bad with occasional voice acting either), but the real pull is the game itself.

Ok, so back to me.
I wanted to take a try at Undertale through the holo-deck. Unfortunately, I forgot...I'm not human. (that's a good thing thehehe...........?). So "TECHNICALLY"....I'm classified "monster" in the program's run.
My first encounter is with...well...whom everyone encounters. Believe, when I first saw this guy in the LP, I didn't think too much of him. I thought it was cute....so unassuming....
His name's Flowey! You're buddy, you're pal, you're friend! You just fell down a hole and now he's here to help you out!
That's right! A good ole' little talking flower. Oh, he wants to share some LOVE with you...oh that's nice. A little forward for a first meeting, but if it makes your soul stronger I gu--
----WEEDWACKER! GET THE WEEDWACKER!
Seriously. Flowey will turn most vegetarians into meat eaters for the sake of not panicking when they see a golden flower atop their next salad. The guy's partly psychotic. And, although you might not see him too much, he's a character you'll find a weird attachment to and has his own story. How do you find out? Well, play the game of course!

Well diapers aren't designed to be bullet-proof, or in this case pellet-proof. Anyway I doubt Azul would let it suffer too much damage to the point where it was no longer wearable as he would never allow himself to be caught completely naked.
Diaper dragon? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that wasn't the first time you've heard that particular nickname.

Was curious if you were gonna upload something undertale related, everyone I know is eiher playing it or going to play it
And yea, it is prety amazing for an indie game, especialy since it's a 1 man game. The characters are brilliant, the story is amazing and there are tons of secrets (like search for WD Gaster, that easter egg is insane, people are still cracking it!).

*shrugs* What can I say...I had NO knowledge at ALL of it...until it was completed or near-completion. So I just got in the party thanks to one of my LPer's deciding to play the game. Needless to say, I got sucked in too
Yeah, it's deserving of it's praise...you can be quite a honorable or horrible person...really shows ya who you are in some ways...
Oh yeah, I heard about Gaster and that secret. Some people like to pair him with Sans in terms of how Sans can...oops, nevermind heheh.
