While I've been advertising ITC as a military sci-fi set in the near future, there is more to it than that.

Drake Hendricks, like Eric, is one of my oldest characters in ITC, having been around since the story's first iteration. Also like Eric since those early years, Drake is one of the original Twelve individuals that were exposed to Trinity.

Drake had always been a man of many hats: a competitive athlete, a scholar... whatever he sets his mind to he will not only do but strive to do it well, especially his passion for languages. This "can do" attitude, combined with his willingness to stand up for the little guy and an avid appreciation for a certain role-playing game, had colluded during his exposure to the alien substance, resulting in his current appearance as an anthropomorphic bronze dragon.

Even with the turmoil that the transformations initially caused, Drake weathered through quite well in comparison to the rest of the Twelve. Of course, his little sisters (yet unnamed) think that it's kind of cool that their brother is a dragon now. XD
