After a brutal war for the planet Earth, the battered human race has been accepted into an interstellar coalition that would ensure their protection as a member species. As with all new member species, a program of integration would go into effect to bridge the cultural gap. However, this period will be very unique, as the average human was only ankle high to the average alien.
With Maduk forcing Dylan to pair with Yirshan, he and those that care for him scramble to prepare him for it.

Yeah. I took a long time again. But honest to goodness, it wasn't just me being lazy this time. I actually went back to school! And I had been preparing for it for a while. So, it was only ninety percent laziness's fault this time.

Also, I have this for those of you that need a refresher for the story, thanks to the suggestion of TomRedlion: https://tomredlion.sofurry.com/
The story and characters thus far... for those of you that need a refresher after the writer's long laziness. Again.
Private First Class Dylan Maddock of the US Maryland National Guard was a veteran of the DC Area Bombardment Zone during the Rynar invasion of Earth, where he served as a medic. After liberation from the United Treaty Organization, Dylan volunteered for the military integration program in an attempt to escape Earth, where he had nothing left, and his PTSD was likely to force him out of the military, or even worse. The Integration program was his only hope to salvage a life and to see dreams come true.
Sergeant Kirache Rottjir, white, wolfish lupari, became his guardian. Dylan locked up in terror when he first met her, but soon after they struck up a quick relationship, where the strong empathy of a lupari, and Kira's matriarchal tendencies proved to be a powerful remedy for Dylan's healing trauma.
They partook in simulations that brought them down to similar heights, where they could interact at a more reasonable size. They began to connect quickly and easily, and Dylan showed an impressive strength in simulated training sessions. However, Dylan kept his troubled past bottled up, save for a few shared horrors. This bottling exploded shortly after a movie showing after the first week of the program, where the medic fell into a violent flashback of a National Guard evacuation of a civilian population, where the convoy was decimated by rynar troops.
In response to this public break down, a psychologist, Captain Duntay was sent to evaluate Dylan, and decide on how best to proceed with him. The officer was given a curiously small amount of time, mere hours, to to come to a decision. Dylan begrudgingly revealed how we was plagued by nightmares, how his family was dead, and how he had nothing to go back to. Duntay decided it would be best to transfer Dylan to a hospital integration program, despite Dylan and Kira wishing to stay together. He was to be sent on a ship with a Chinese soldier, Kemeng Gongsun, who was removed from the program for his disdain against having a hermaphroditic guardian, and his general hatred for women commanding him. However, Sergeant Samuel Mitchell intervened, and managed to halt Duntay's transfer with bureaucracy, and Dylan was able to stay with Kira, under the condition of therapy sessions with Duntay.
After a shaky first session, Duntay quickly came to the conclusion that Dylan was best to be kept with Kira as much as possible, to nurture their relationship. The lupari was clearly the best treatment for Dylan. This proved true, as Dylan gradually opened up to Kira, sharing more and more with her. This trust in her reached a tipping point when the sergeant saved Dylan and two other humans from a drunk guardian. After that incident, there was a curious shift in his nightmares, where his guardian entered into them, and protected him from his demons. Their relationship reached a whole new level, with close physical affections becoming a part of their friendship.
However, the incident with the drunk guardian mandated an investigation, and Molayoninuoluwa Obasi, or Maduk, was sent. He took an interest in Kira and Dylan's relationship. After Dylan mustered the will to share with Kira, via the simulations, a violent memory that showed how powerless humans were against giants, he mandated a separation between the guardian and charge. Dylan would be given to another Sergeant, Yirshan Kultak, while Kira would receive Corporal Cody Shaw as her charge. Maduk cited the uncanny quickness with which Kira and Dylan became close as a cause for alarm, and decided a test of Dylan's ability to handle another guardian was the best way to see if Dylan was particularly vulnerable to Kira's influence.
Part Twelve begins the very night after this decision was made...
Secondary characters to know:
Yirshan Kultak - Arkatian (dragon) guardian. Large and bold, with an enjoyment of teasing humans with her size.
Cody Shaw - The charge of Yirshan, and former charge of Trikil. He is excitable, likes to talk, and seems to enjoy Yirshan's teasing.
Duntay - Viliti (rabbit) psychologist, and Dylan's therapist. Although he had a rough start with Dylan, he has his best interests in mind now, and wishes to see the human to recovery.
Samuel Mitchell - Sergeant in charge of training the humans to integrate into the UTO military, and Maduk's escort.
Dahashi - Artificial Intelligence that takes the avatar of a blue falashai, or a fox. He is the administrator of the base's simulation hive.
Maduk - He is the human investigating for problems among guardians and charges. He seems untrusting of non-humans, and scours for any problem he can find.
Fahne Kulshah - Arkatian lieutenant commanding Dylan and Kira's platoon.
Russel Dolby - Charge of Fahne, and a former SAS commando.

Let me rephrase the inquiry.
How exactly did Cody get stepped on?
Was this as result of a silly game they had in physical form / some careless mistake caused by either sides folly.
Or (and this is what I meant in the original question)
They had done some experimenting in the sims regarding possible scenarios that could happen in their daily routine, and just so happened to do the stepping act as one of their normal teasings just like the horn decoration tease. Or both or either of them have some secret uncharacteristic fetish regarding macrophilia that led to some said acts in the sims. Perhaps even fatal?
Also, the IRC is awfully silence these days..

Most likely it involved simple goofing off in the sims. Yirshan mentioned Cody talks too much, so perhaps it was a means to shut him up in the sims. However! With Maduk scrutinizing simulation records... would that be something he'd target? Perhaps, or perhaps he thinks that kind of casual playfulness isn't so much of a problem. But if he does, then perhaps Cody and Yirshan playfully did it for real. Letting your imagination run through the ideas is part of the fun. :)
As for the IRC, yeah, it gets pretty silent, and has gone down in activity. Doesn't help that you show up during the most inactive times. I sometimes poke at it and get it going for fun, but otherwise I'm mostly busy with other things.

I don't like taking so long, but sometimes I just fight to get the discipline going. I'm at least pleased this one came quicker than part 11, despite being in school now. :)
If it's any consolation, I'm sitting on 10 thousand words that I wrote for part 12, but had to axe. With any luck, they can be used in part 13.

Dammit, Im on the edge of my seat again. Another great update, was looking forward to getting a bit of insight on how Cody and Yirshan were doing. I think it was amusing having them paired up as they're more open to messing around with each other despite the difference in size.
And who'd a thunk MP's weren't too popular in the UTO either...

Cody and Yirshan are a neat pair, like a fantastical example of the desires of many folks here. They can be fun to see and reference, but also dangle in front of readers. Hah!
MPs will be MPs... gets even worse when whatever they're enforcing is totally ridiculous and they probably know it.

Another great chapter, my friend. Still loving this great story and I gotta say that Yirshan may be one of my favourite characters, i'm glad she is being included more. Her relationship with Cody is is funny, sweet and just plain great. We've seen some great artwork of Kira and Dylan, i'd love to see some of Yirshan and Cody maybe even Yirshan stepping on him. XD that would be fun to see.
All in all I loved it as I usually do and I look forward to the next part, keep up the amazing work my friend.

well, pretty much everything up till the flashback at the end. the way everyone was wanting to punch magic was a given, so no surprise there. they the whole you can't see your doctor because you bearded your teeth at magic was also no surprise, you have been hinting at how one sided the anhtros have it in this story so i saw that coming a mile away. then the games in the sim, i play mmos for years fighting waves of foes, I’ve done it so many time i can see them in my sleep. The movie ref was cute and the flight part was also cute but yeah, it was just boring over all. Sorry if this is wordy and all that, but I just wanted to be as clear on this as I could.
Sorry I took so long to reply. Well, to be honest there is very little war in this story so I don’t know maybe, shorten the time in the holo-deck have what happed at the end of this chapter sooner then put them in real combat.
Maybe have him forced to be with the dragon and he warms up too her and the wolfess gets jealous? Or something? I don’t know, that’s just thoughts off the top of my head.
