A very neat design over here :) Those shoes are especially crazy... You'd have to be so careful about how your feet pass one another!
It took me a bit to see the Mario influence, but the shell on the back was a pretty good indicator. Overall, I think it turned out great :) And, hey, there's nothing wrong with your pixel art and animation! Keep those up too, as you put a lot of work into 'em!
