So later on that day, I grabbed a sheet of paper and tried out this new style, or technique rather. I wondered if I could pull off various species, off the top of my head, in under a minute each. Here's the result.
The first row was inspired. The second row, not so much. By that point my hand was cramping. So it came as no surprise when I completely failed at trying to draw myself.

But here comes the interesting part.
I was drawing this in the hallway between classes, and people were walking past me and glancing at my work. Andy (you don't need to know who he is) came over and said,
"You're drawing furries? Draw me!"
Shocker. So I did. The species was his choice. Later on, I drew Andy's friend Mike of my own volition, and chose the species on a whim. The result actually really resembles him.
