Sammy's Lil Trip... Day 2
Well! I finally managed to finish this page! I apologize for it is rather text heavy...
Now to explain them! X3
In the first panel, this happened when we had more or less woken up on the overnight ferry ride. I had been on the trip before and knew that we had several hours to go before we finally arrived. However, my friend Micheal in his sleepy state thought we had arrived at Holland, had walked over to the window, thrusted his hands against the glass and shouted out "My God..Holland is a god damn barren wasteland." Shortly to be corrected by me X3
In the 2nd panel, this is in the afternoon after a two hour coach journey. There wasn't much to note about it except that Holland really is unnaturally flat. As soon as we saw hills, we were entering Germany! Going back to the panel.. this took place when we arrived in Köln. We were allowed to wander around the public area, do shopping..etc, but also go inside the Cathedral. The cathedral really is big, If I remember so, it is the tallest Gothic style cathedral in Western Europe.
Whilst inside, we had a look around, Micheal was taking pictures with his new camera that he had bought for the trip. It was working fine until he told us he was going to take pictures of and steal precious artifacts that belonged to the cathedral (for example, there was a big golden statue of I believe Jesus on the altar). As soon as he said that, his camera refused to work inside the cathedral! I thought it was rather funny.
Another nice thing was that I went to a small section of the cathedral where it was filled with candles lit for prayers and remembering love ones that had passed on. So I kindly lit one for my grandparents. ^.^
Outside the cathedral however..was a bit weird.. Micheal's camera started working and all of the people who were on the trip had gathered around. They were planning on leaving soon and they thought that we should all have a group photo. Naturally we all agreed and placed ourselves in with the crowd. After one photo had been taken (there were many cameras), a rather ill in the head homeless man barged through the group yelling at the teacher (I can't actually say what he said...too racist >>; I can say that he spoke English o.o )then lurched out and tried assaulting him. He was even chased around a fountain that was nearby. Luckily the teacher did escape and many of the residents had actually phoned the police already! That was one of the more scarier moments of the trip o.o
Fun Facts!
-Micheal embarrassed himself trying to order in German in KFC. The tiller got so fed up she started talking to him in English
-German Ice cream is yummy! Try it!
- The cathedral survived 14 aerial bombs during WW2 and remained standing whilst the city in ruins. There's a photo of it on Wikipedia, its really scary.
Hope you all enjoy this piece! =D
