A creation of my own based on the Final Fantasy universes. He is a half-clavat and half-carbuncle creation that was born to the king of a small country. His odd state is due to the magical blessing of the crystal that keeps the town warded from monsters. His staff is a Myrrh Tree staff, crafted by a Yuken artisan and blessed by the light of the crystal, the tree it was gathered from was withered but sacred, with the crystal's blessing however some semblance of life returned to the staff's wood and provides a small amount of liquid Myrrh every so often.
His father was unable to bear an heir and because of that he prayed for years that some fortune would be bestowed upon him. The crystal created his son after many years of gathering enough magic to create such a miracle. The king was over joyed but feared for his son, in public he wore a magic made disguise so that none could see his strange form. He also forbid his son to journey beyond the protective wards of the crystal. For his part the prince felt loved but stifled under his father's caring embrace. One day, on his fifteenth birthday his father let him journey out to a cave, knowing that it was devoid of monsters, so that his son could experience his first "Adventure." Hoping the boring experience would keep his son away from adventuring, however what he did not know is that a young monster tamer had set up a toll bridge in the cave, as it connected two powerful countries. His son succeeded in not only over coming the young man's most powerful creature but he also befriended the monster tamer and the two returned home together. His father wasn't pleased but from that day froward the young prince was allowed to adventure to his hearts content.
