Well.. this is fantasy.. the whole furryfandom is unrealistick... actually most (probablbly almost all) anthro character with animal heads wont be able to talk like humans since their vocal structure is diferent than the one needed for the human comunication (some animal mouths can't make sounds like the ones from the consonants: M, P, R, F, S, K, T, (for example)).
Also is unrealistic to have a winged anthro character whose wings are as little as most furry characters do (they won't be able to fly, like lost of mythological creatures poorly designed like western medieval dragons, manticores or christian angels).. also a bat anthro shouold have her wings atacched to her arms.. since it will be imposible for her to fly in other way (the anthropomorphic arms are in the way of the wings).
(and don't let me start with those tattooed fury characters, that have tattoos over them, like if their fur where skin, things that's not, and doesn't have sence)
Soooooo... this is just fantasy... those all things botters me too, but only if i see this fandom as realistic fantasy (but it isn't.. is mostly magic fantasy without cientific sense... take a deep breath and let it be. ^^... you can enjoy more the piece if you don't think in those things, cause if you do.. the whole fandom will make you crazy.)

Actually agreed, Also a point about tatoos/markings That definitely falls square in the category of "it just magically exists..for some reason" but if markings were to NEED a reason to exist
say in the example of "This character's fur is an unnatural color" Than it'd just be considered hair dye whatever the application method may be... Like.. you can apply hair dye, tatoos, and airbrush to fur it's just slightly more difficult than skin i'd imagine
