We had a visitor at the station the other day. A Maine based company was contracted to rebuild one of the great icons of the fire service. Just like Pete Maloy ad his black and white and Officer Pauncherello on his KZ-1000 stirred the imaginations of millions of future police officers. This truck along with Desoto and Gage really helped to user in the modern age of per hospital emergency medicine. This truck is also equipped with a lot of period correct equipment.

Great restoration! though, I think in the original, LAFD used err signal stat lamps akin to the model 4200 with the snap ring lenses so one part fit all the trucks, thought the school bus style lights are a bit brighter in daylight. I wonder how many versions of that license plate are around? I think the official first position is the diamond with the E inside it. I remember the (boy, digging deep) the radio had a telephone handset with an acoustic coupler to the chart recorder.
