Song numba 7!
I'm very happy with this song. This is the last song we wrote together with the drummer, Justin, and our original bassist, Boyd still in the band (though he didn't really write the bass parts). Again, though, the recording is our last drummer, Stu, and myself on bass (having not written the bass parts either).
Interesting story about the opening. The chord progression thru the 'grand' weirdness is A/B/A/C/B/A/D/E/B/C which is actually the structure of the song by sections. Those letters were in that order on the whiteboard and we decided to just play them as chords....
When we played live it would just be guitars strumming the chords in a 6/8 pattern, while the 3 of us (2 guitarists and me) would sing 'Ooh' in the chords. Pretty fun.
MY idea for the official recording involved the choir group that I sing (or use to sing) with bursting out with 'AAH's on the 4th count of each chord...woulda been freaking SWEEET! But alas, we didn't get that far. Instead the 2 guys decided to just make their own version without my knowledge. It's pretty cool though.
This song is about the idea of being caught between a rock and a hard place...basically...but with my own set of metaphors. More specifically it was about having to choose between the lesser of 2 evils, and really not liking either side.
Hope you like it!

OH, and the picture is the final 4 of us, taken by our good friend Aaron 'Cas' Castillo. From left to right: Stu Bryant on drums, Eddie Voyce(me) on vocals/bass guitar, David Bosse on guitar/moog taurus, and Anuj Arora on guitar. We're in an old train car.
