Concept art for Yami's weapons and other gear. Some ideas by  kuronetsuki

First of all, Yami is a pacifist. She doesn't kill.
Instead, she uses her charms to distract or negotiate with the enemy.

Katana: Her main weapon. Extremely sharp, but it's just as fragile as it's sharp.
The tsuba is designed after the Yin-Yang symbol, and can be used as a last resort shuriken.

The scabbard is to the right of the katana.
it also functions as a gohei to chase away malevolent spirits.

On the handle, the katana has one of Yami's trademark bells. Also has two shides, alternating between red and white with each segment, starting from the base.

Shuriken: Main ranged weapons. She prolly stores these in her hand guards, but I'm still working it out, and something I have yet to discuss with Netsuki =P

Jitte: Striking weapon. The protrusion is very lethal, but Yami rather uses the non-lethal rod.
Also excellent for catching katanas in order to break them.
(Still working on the design. I was thinking of making it resemble an Absol, with the protrusion acting like the horn.)

Reverse ninjato: The sharp part of her ninjato is actually on its back rather than the front, making it a striking weapon rather than a slashing weapon.
(Apparently the idea comes from some kind of manga, but it seemed a good enough idea to use it.)

The scabbard of her ninjato has openings on both ends. This allows her to use the scabbard as a snorkel to hide underwater.
She can also use the scabbard as a makeshift flute to send messages.

Kunai: Throwing knives Yami uses more for utility than actual combat.
The ring on the base of the kunai has a spool containing a paracord.
This way, if Yami lodges the kunai firmly in a wall, she can use it as a pendulum, or to abseil down buildings. Abseiling Absol~ =P

Shakuhachi: A type of flute. Not only does it make music, but it can also be used to fire tranquilizer darts.

Bola: Two thick metal rings joined together by a net. She wears those on her arms.
Normally, she uses these to store additional objects and weapons, and the rings are used to block attacks.

If no longer needed, she can remove them and throw them, acting like bolas.

Communication Device: Her hairpin actually conceals a hi-tech communication device.
She can use it to receive orders.
It also contains a tracking function so the base will always know her location.


Mega Bell: The bell she wears with her at all times, and her most prized possession.

A family heirloom passed down in Yami's family from mother to daughter in their bloodline.
Generally, if there are multiple children in a family, only one of them is the chosen one to enter ninja school when they reach the age of 18.

The Mega Bell is her trump card. When all weapons fail, her charms aren't working, and she's fully stripped nude, she unleashes her most powerful ability: Mega Evolution.

Her physcial abilities are enhanced, becoming as swift as a white shadow, and attaining the power of flight: Yami no Okami.

However, the sudden surge of immense power can make her lose control, becoming Magatsu-Yami instead. In this stage, her white fur becomes black, and the training of using sexuality in combat becomes corrupted, turning her into something not unlike a dominatrix.
As such, this ability is only used as a last resort.
At least, that's what I have in mind =P

( And I came up with this BEFORE the Mega Lucario episodes. But that's because it's so cliché =P )
