Some personal art inbetween commissions. A little picture I drew of our cat Amy who passed away one year ago today. It's hard to believe it's been a year already. Even now it still feels unreal, I miss her very much, so I felt I should draw something.
About the picture and the title... whenever someone would sit down at our dining room table and Amy was close by, she'd come and sit next to them. If she didn't get enough attention, she'd softly put her paw on the person's arm and look at them calmly. Then once they pet her she'd resume just sitting close to them, keeping them company. This most regularly happened in the morning when my mother sat at the table, drinking her coffee and reading the paper. Then she'd also have her front paws resting on the table, seemingly reading the paper with my mother. She'd always do this, it was adorable.
This was her by the way: http://sta.sh/01iouh1hbat0
And her as a teeny tiny kitten: http://sta.sh/01nyup0ewwhp

Whenever one of my cats have died, it has torn a hole in my heart.
I love each of them ever so much... and not all of them die of old age.
Surprisingly our oldest cat died around the age of 27... though we aren't sure if that's her exact age since she was a stray.
I care a lot for them, and our remaining cats like to jump up on my lap while I use the computer, which tends to get them lots of petting while they distract me from whatever I'm doing.

Yeah, losing her was quite a blow, especially since he was only close to 7 years old.
27 years is quite amazing :) I hope our cats that live at my parents place live that long. My tomcat is gonna be 16 this summer and my mother's cat is gonna be 12. Both of them seem to be pretty healthy still, I hope it stays that way. I can't really imagine my cat not being there anymore since he's been there for such a huge part of my life.
Sadly I don't have a cat where I live now, but I'd sure enjoy having a cat on my lap, too :) Though I get that it can be quite distracting, haha!

A cat being 20 is equal to a human being 100 years old...
Your tomcat has already reached the elderly status... take good care of him...
A shame the lifespan of dogs and wolves is almost half that of cats... they live short lives...
I've cared deeply for all my pets... and you do too... I can respect that.

Probably on the inside the cat finds it super exciting as well, but is just too cool to show it :D
I also love it when they make a mistake and then try to play it off. Like when they accidentally roll off the chair they've been sleeping on an then walk away like 'I totally meant to do that!'
