This is a master study I did for my Painting 1 class. The original Iris was painted by Frank Vincent DuMond, who started the painting in 1895 and finished it in 1902. I was attracted to this work because of the beautiful colors and delicate brushwork. After choosing this painting, I learned he was one of the artists who taught Georgia O'Keefe! Ultimately, I got an A on this project, despite starting and finishing it late!
