I did this one a while back for Tarkus's birthday, and colored it up in the bit of free time I've had between work lately.

Funny thing about these characters - Tarkus, Rhos, and Leonard took me foreeeever to draw, meanwhile everything with fur took 5-15 minutes each. Suunto, easy. Big barabear Dex, easy. Little human dragon rider? Hard as hell. xD I started in the fandom with furry beasts, must be those early practice days of drawing werewolf after werewolf at play! Although Tarkus was a lot easier than he once was due to the practice I got with the animatic and sculpture.
Never underestimate the power of practice and repetition!

This coloured version reminds me of the story/print called "The Napping House." Check it out if you don't know it its one of my daughters favourite bed time stories. I can almost hear TheLeonard reading it out loud.
And I can just imagine the mayhem if someone were to toss an apple or other dragon squeak toy into the center.....

Like they totally sneaked up on me, while I was sleeping. Gathering around me, posing for this picture to ruin my reputation! I was totally unaware of their presence!
*nods eagerly, crossing his arms on front of his chest* I'm not soft... they... *Scratches back of his head, eyes shifting around uncertain* ...they just tricked me. I'm telling the truth! I'm hard! HARD! :I
I mean... uh... look at them! They are not sleeping! Yeah uh... that's right, I killed them! All of them! And enslaved the human, forcing him to read to me, while being surrounded by his dead friends.

I'm kinda amazed how you managed to color dex in a way, that does not make him look too alien on this picture. He blends in quite ok.
Anyway! This is so cool. I already liked that picture a lot and surprising me by coloring it... that's so nice of you, it's almost evil. No human being can handle that much happy. You are working on killing me. I'm sure of that.
