i'm not quite sure about the possibility of the pose - especially if the character's male - but this is still pretty awesome looking. i love the fur texture and the color usage, especially the subtle greens ( or is that yellows? ) most prominent in his face.

The beasts never really had a designated gender. Basically one would assume that all were male, or simply genderless. They were part of the Transformers line, so it's safe to assume they were part robot and probably had no genitals.

As far as the pose goes, the way those toys were designed it wouldn't really seem they could do much of anything but stand up straight (and I say that lightly). Its really just the cod piece that bothers me the most, but anything else looked too bulky and even less likely that this creature would be able to move comfortably.
The pose is possible, maybe not the most comfortable, but possible.

They are like Transformers when it comes to gender. Also spin off of Transformers, in Japan they are Beastfromers/Laserabeasts

Never heard of them before.
