Sound is pretty damn good from what little experience I have with sound quality in headphones. The external speakers are pretty decent enough for you and your friends to listen to with in a 5 foot radius in a moderately noisy room(10 foot in a rather quiet room) What looks like speakers in the ears are not actually speakers, they are just where the LED's shine through. The actual speakers are behind the LED "speaker". Not a big fan of the included detachable mic. It is a poseable wire mic which the wire could be stiffer to make it stay in place better(may add a small gauge wire covered by heat shrink to make it work to my liking). My phone has a volume protection feature that won't allow me to get a good amount of bass from them but does better when using a device that doesn't have that volume restriction. Over all, still a HELL of a lot better than using earbuds or the similar.
