A poem dedicated to my mom on her birthday about her favorite thing in the whole world. Being on the beach and watching the water move up and down the coast. Sadly she passed a little less then a year ago from today and this poem was a mixture of my sorrow and hoping that she is enjoying herself in the afterlife on some astral beach.
Normally I write poems that are light hearted and empowering, but this one... this one is different. I plan to write one more on the day she passed into the realm of the departed. Please don't feel sorry for me, what I need more is just silent understanding.

Beach Wishes
Waves laps upon her feet, a calming
scene with a sun of light setting.
There is nothing more enjoying
then listening to the waves rising
and falling upon the beach a wishing.
There you stand watching, wishing
that this was a dream and not a setting
of sorrow. The final breath rising
to take her to a place of enjoying
the spot by the waves, a calming.
This I knew that she was wishing.
I knew she loved the calming
waves, the wave that keep rising
and falling upon the shore. A setting
sun that she had found to be enjoying.
Here you stand with her wishing
of place the sun is never setting.
Only watching the new day rising
upon the blue water which is calming.
A single wish for her to be enjoying.
