...I don't know. Really, I don't.
...Seriously. I was delirious at the time. I think perhaps I doodled an eagle and then added an eaglet......aaaaaaaand then apparently I decided said eaglet looked a tad overly-innocent to Dad's suspicious squint, and added the silly origame' thingamajig.

Awww. This has to be one of your cutest pictures. Great job, Jen!
(It helps that Bald Eagles are goofy birds. They don't LOOK goofy -- they look powerful and regal and intimidating -- but if you ever talk to rehabbers/zookeepers that deal with them, or watch some of their antics in the wild, you realize it's a front. They're all loony-bin nuts, by raptor standards. Daddy's just getting a taste of his own medicine. ;)

Thanks. :)
I'll agree that bald eagle antics are amusing. Apart from all the fish-filching our area eagles wreak upon the osprey, I also have fond memories of watching a raptor show where every other bird - the golden eagle, the african buzzard, the condor, the harpy eagle, and every last one of a dozen hawks and falcons (this was a German raptor sanctuary/breeding aviary for endangered birds, quite awesome) - dutifully caught its tidbit in midair, then swooped across a tiny pond to dip them in the water before landing on a perch to eat. ...The bald eagle, by contrast, caught the tidbit, WADED across the pond, and hopped up on a rock.
It was hilarious, albeit slightly embarrassing for the American high schoolers that were supposed to be cheering for their national bird. ^_^;

Heh. That's relatively mild compared to some of the stuff I've read. The real problem, according to rehabbers, is that Baldies tend to be psychotic. Having an eagle decide that it doesn't like the look on your face and that it NEEDS to wipe it off -- with its talons -- is endless fun for the poor rehabbers.
But they aren't all psychotic. Some of them are just grumpy, and it's "grumpy eagle" that you captured so cutely. :>
