Oh, thank you! The reason it looks so 'clean' is because it was sketched digitally (with the #2 pencil tool) in Corel Painter. :} I use a wacom tablet, start with a very rough, skeletal sketch on one layer. Then when the rough is approved by the commissioner, I create a new layer (like putting a new piece of paper over a rough on a lightbox, is how I see it) and do the finished sketch on that layer. Then I 'turn off' the rough layer and add some detail and such. :}
I like to sketch and paint digitally these days as I don't have a scanner. ^^; But I do keep a traditional personal sketchbook.

That's the thing I love about Corel Painter - it mimics real media extremely well. :} The color things you see in my gallery are also done in Corel Painter, usually with the airbrush and oil pastel tools.
