You're not the only one to have that happen. I was one of 3 winners of another artist's 1000th pageview contest, and one of the winners was the artist himself. 0_o

I'm thinking there might be something wrong with FA's pageview counter.

The way pageviews work, it only counts each IP once in a certain timespan, so once the 1000th is ticked, any IPs viewing that recently ticked the pageview counter will see 1000 instead of incrementing it further. I've heard of Kiribans with 10+ winners 'cause of that.
