Prime rib sandwich
When you are craving a nice peace of red meat nothing is better then Prime rib (even better when its on sale )
This may seem like an odd way to cook Prime rib but trust me once its done the Prime rib has a nice crispy out side and very tender in side.
Ingredients
1 2 bone prime rib roast. (when they are on sale)
1 Loaf Of Sourdough Bread
1 large onion
tea spoon of flower
sprinkle of salt and pepper
you favourite BBQ sauce (I used maple syurp barbecue sauce)
Procedure
Method is for a 2 bone roast
Preheat your oven to 500°F
Rub the entire surface of the roast with flour, salt and pepper. Place roast in a roasting pan then pop it into your hot oven.
DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR. Roast for exactly 30 minutes, then, without opening the door, turn the oven off and let the prime rib continue cooking, undisturbed, for 2 more hours. NO PEEKING, NO CHECKING! Use this time to cut the onion in to medium size chunks. Next set a frying pan on the stove and turn it on to a medium hit and then add a little bit of vegetable oil to the frying pan and let the oil get warm before adding the onion and fry until they are a nice golden brown. (or done to your like ness) Next mix in a Half a cup of mayo and 3 table spoons of horseradish in a small bowl and mix well. (you may want to taste it and adjust the amount of the horseradish depending on how hot you like it) Once prime rib is done take out of the oven and let sit in the roasting pan as you take your Loaf Of Sourdough Bread and cutdown the middle of it. Now turn your oven back on to 200F and place both half's of the Sourdough Bread in to the oven and leave it in just until it start to get all nice and warm and toasty (about 4 min) once the bread is nice and toasted cut up the prime rib roast in to strips and lay out on the bread and cover that in the cooked onions and cover all that with the barbecue sauce. On the other half of the bread spoon out a good amount of the mayo and horseradish mixture and spread it on the top of the bread. Put the top of the bread on to the Prime rib sandwich and cut in half.
enjoy
