This is a little 'what-if' vignette I did featuring 2 of the characters from the local table-top RPG game.

The rhino is my character Sherman--a brawny, slow-witted judicial champion who loves music & thinks that he's an accomplished singer (he's not--but who's going to tell a hulking rhino that he's tone-deaf?).

The kitty is Veris, a very quick-witted (and usually quick-footed) rogue who delights in the art of mind-games. They almost immediately fostered a love-hate relationship (they love to hate each other).

Sherman ached to kill the kitty, but was constrained by his loyalty to the leader of the group, who forbade it. Veris knew this all too well & took great delight in tormenting the rhino.

I wondered what would happen if Sherman ever *did* manage to smish the kitty (that's right, 'smish'), and this is the result: Sherman finds that the loss of a hated enemy can be just as traumatic as the loss of a brother-in-arms.
