For those who followed a bit my journal, I had issue finding a candidate to be my service dog. I finally found one at the nearest shelter, his sad-looking eyes were to die for and he was so calm I couldn't believe it. He succeed the behavior test and didn't even looked at the cats when we tested him into the shelter's catery. We decided to give him his chance even thought he was a bit shy and unsecure.
We did made the right decision, only a bit over two weeks we have him and already, he learned a lot and got confidence he never shown before. The lady who found him is amazed to see how happy he is now and in such short time. He is a quick learner, I already teached him over 20 commands where he can do without mistakes. And he is still learning new ones of course!
(Picture is him when he was found and brought to shelter at the beginning of the year, second one is one I took of him with us a week ago)

Indeed!
He was thrown rocks at him and hit with sticks, he was living on beach for a year with a pack of feral dogs. The lady told me he had a collar so small his throat was slit open and infected, he was nearly blind from rocks thrown too close to his eyes. He thankfully still have his eyesight, but he has scars in both eyes and entropion too (which doesn't harm him as long we put some drops in his eyes from time to time). One of his ear was half ripped off and according to the shape of the scars, it was probably a tag like you put on animal planned to be eaten. He probably escaped a dog slaughterhouse or something like that.

I would love to be more often a foster, I used to do it mainly to save kittens from the street nd/or euthanasia, but could only foster very few dogs as it's harder to find a landlord who accept them.
Since this upload, I have even more pictures of how much he changed throuht the time since we got him :)

Oh wow... he's beautiful!
One mother we kept. She was a Shelti mix and sharp as a tack. When we got her she was skin and bones and boobs. She and her nine pups were found in a closed cardboard box in the parking lot of a library. I love helping them - someday the roles will be reversed I'm sure.
