Hold it in your mind...there's a line outside the ballroom, 20 or 30 people waiting for the good seats before the show starts. The volunteer at the door sees your badge, waves you through, and you find a seat—near the front, but not right at the front, because there's no telling what JD Puppy would do with someone on the front row. A pair of huge fox ears is blocking half your view. The lights go down.
And HALF THE MUSICIANS IN THE FURRY FANDOM flood the stage.
That's Bandthro: the travelling furry musical show with no particular line-up. After years of gigs on the furry convention circuit, a group of friends and musicians, who always found themselves playing together, said "Let's actually make this official!"
Performing the Bandthro concert is something I look forward to all year. It's wonderful that I not only get to play with such talented folks, but I also consider them dear friends. It's been great to share the stage with them each year I've been there. Having such a diverse bunch of musicians from within the fandom come together is always very interesting, especially since many of us collaborate outside of just doing Bandthro. -- Korozjin
Texas Furry Fiesta was honored to host Bandthro's first performance. Many of the musicians are long-time Fiesta friends: This year's Bandthro members were AJA,Cosmik, DolphinBoy, Dreamsong,FoxAmoore, Krozjin, Rhubarb the Bear, and guests Matthew Ebel and PepperCoyote.
Missed the concert? Our staff caught it on camera, as did Dragonkid!(0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)
Songs: The Safety Prance, Tra La La, Animals All The Same, Starry Destination, End Tide, Come Chase The Moon, Kellashee, Be Forever Mine.
