Maya, despite being 22 years of age, has the mind of a child, and acts accordingly with many issues. Ron is also the only male that Maya has had regular interaction with, so she looks up to him like an Uncle. As stoic as he may be, Ron undesrtands this and takes care when talking to Maya.

It's almost comical. Maya is a hulk even by in-universe standards, and here she is shying away like some 5 year old who is struggling to tell the truth even though they know they'll get in trouble.


I wonder what it is that Maya wants to ask Ron? The world may never know.
