Chakats are very cold-resistant, but although this young chakat is patterned like a snow leopard, hir home is in Australia where it is summer at Christmas. So when shi goes visiting relatives in the northern hemisphere, shi only has a summer-weight fur coat, therefore shi wears a jacket and decorative leg-warmers to keep the cold from nipping at hir.
