My beautiful cat, Reno, is being euthanized today for liver failure. I made a promise to him that I would be there, I won't let him die alone with strangers. As hard as it is, and as much as I do not want to do it, I will be there for him. I love him so much. Although I do consider myself a dog person I have never had a bond as strong as I have had with him with any other animal in my life. He was my first pet after moving out and was my constant companion. He slept in my arms at night and always wanted to be with me. He was the best cat I think this world could create.
He died young, way too young. It's not fair but I know I did my best to give him the best life I could.
I love you Reno. Rest in peace, my friend.

I'm so sorry, sometimes we are blessed with cats that only are our angels in flesh and fur for a short time.
Like my Millie. I only knew her a month or two, she was feral, a friend looked after her and she tried to follow where I left for home an hour later. If only I knew, if only I stayed with her for longer. I wish she was here, all the time. But I feel like I always have her on my shoulder, like the silly cat she was.
