Merry Christmas Bucktown! It's great to see you're in the spirit! I'm a firm believer in Christ myself and say to those who aren't Christian this: You don't have to be a Christian or even believe in any God to have the spirit of Christmas in you! While yes, Christmas originally was to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, throughout generations it has become about a lot more, and I'm not even counting the commercialization. To have the spirit of Christmas, all you need is some love in your heart. That is the bare minimum you need for Christmas is about being with friends and family you love as well as spreading joy and peace to your fellow man. As far as it being better to give than receive, don't think that ONLY means to buy gifts for your loved ones. Doing that is very generous, yes, but try to also think of people less fortunate than you. I know I always do, which is why not only have I been a bell ringer for the Salvation Army before, but still support them every year.
