I was so moved by my experience playing Undertale that I decided to write some fan fiction. The premise is this: Asriel had a tough choice to make in the game. He would always regret the decision he made. But what would happen if he had the chance to do it all over again? Would he choose differently? This story also peers more deeply into the character and motives of Chara (The First Child), which the game only hints at. Based on the information I learned from the various endings, and guided by its themes, I try to shed some light on the complex relationship between Asriel and Chara without it turning into a wish-fulfillment fantasy or standard romance. Still, I leave a some things ambiguous on purpose so that the reader can fill in the gaps with their own imagination, much like in the game.

This story is squeaky clean, but it contains angst and goes to some dark places that are within the thematic context of the original game. Genre-wise, it is a drama with some elements of horror.
