I think a lot of people are fascinated by death because it is the great and final unknown. There is a lot of mystery to what happens to us when we die (religious believe aside, I'm Christian, but I still have doubts) and its fascinating. Whats more fascinating is it is so very ordinary. It happens every day. and yet, we still have very little knowledge about it.
Plus skulls are just fucking cool. I mean. That little ball of marrow holds everything important to an organism. and it still has "eyes".
Just my thoughts, anyway :D

I understand fascination with the components from which we and other animals are comprised; as a biologist and tech nerd I'm all about how things work, and of course it makes sense for an artist as well. And it's natural to be curious about the penultimate unknown we all have to face someday. A focus on death has been a recurring theme in her gallery though, not what comes after. Nor has it been anatomical studies. I'm used to such a focus from people trying to be edgy or who read a bit too much Anne Rice, but neither seem to be the case here. So I remain a bit puzzled.
