Thank you! I actually gave the original translation to the guy I made it for, but roughly it means:
"All (the)gods protect and keep the words in (this)book - (something) and (something) through water and sky and desert and stars - (something) existence keep sacred and follow your heart - (the)gods walk beside (you) through desertland and woodland and all lands forever kept"

Sorry about all the "(something)"s, but I don't remember all the words off the top of my head and my notebook is in my bag in the car, but as soon as I get out and about in the morning, I'll try to look it up.

How'd you get to a point to be able to write sentences in heiroglyph? >w< I've never been able to really get past the basics.

I do a lot of linguistics studies and I've been compiling a personal dictionary and phrase book for some time. The Egyptian structural syntax is very similar to inverted sentences of German and Middle-English, and once you get a hang of how the words are structured, it's just a matter of learning the vocabulary. I would also recommend a copy of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, I picked up a really good copy at Books-A-Million, which was a reprinting of a 1912 (or something in the early 1900's) translation of the Papyrus of Ani. It includes the original hieroglyphs along with a direct translation into English. It was what got me past just using the same handful of words and making names to being confident enough in the language structure to write out meaningful sentences. It's a bit dry on the literary side, but it's a cultural boon.

Already have the Book of the Dead. =) Read it twice, and found some amazing stuff. I've had a couple lives spent in Egypt, way back when, and it still sings in me pretty strongly as a spiritual 'home' moreso than any other place. I actually found a book that I find infinitely more helpful- it's Nicki Scully & Linda Star Wolf's "Shamanic Mysteries of Egypt, Awakening the Healing Power of the Heart". While I didn't do the meditations in the chapters, I gained a ton of info from it that made much more sense to me in half the time it took to scour the BotD. x3 (But, my patron deity had me read the BotD: let me know if I'm getting too kooky-sounding for 'ya- so I read it.)

Ahaaaaah, though: your version's got stuff in it mine doesn't. In the past, when I wanted to copy down the heiroglyphs, I'd have to find the word in the BotD in usage. However, the glyphs actually changed based on sentence context, or so I was told/read, which is frustrating. @.@

I admit, I've got Budge's semi-inaccurate version, but hey. ^^* Better than nothing.  rahlaeya was very kind in giving me it.

*nods* Yeah, I was drawn to read it my mine too. I just don't mention that part too much because people tend to think I'm a bit too crazy (though I don't bother avoiding it too much around furries since well... they're furries) Haven't read Scully and Wolf's book, but if they've got it at the local stores I'll check it out.

They did ^^ I was fortunate enough to find it at Barnes & Noble. I actually initially scoffed at it, then it haunted me (ie: wouldn't get off my mind) for a good few weeks, so I went back, spazzed that I didn't see it, then found it right before I was about to leave. x3
