I only shot in standard 3 position (Remington 40X-B). I've actually never been on skis. The Marlin is a single shot bolt action, but you can remove the block in the accessory rail and slide a 5 round clip from below. In 3 position you would not be allowed to use the clip.
The bad thing is the tray does not hold the rounds well, so it's easy to drop a round to the side. Then you have to fish it out and get it in the breach. During that time, your heart rate will get whacked. If I go back to competition, I'll buy myself either a Remington or an Anschutz. I'm considering going to air rifle...

Yeah considering my financial straits I've been considering air-rifle and pistol as way of re-honing my skills with the rifle and pistol. the biggest thing I'm finding as a problem is locating a good accurate air-rifle that more mimics the stock configuration of sporter rifle that doesn't have a muzzle velocity 1,000+ fps! I don't need that much for practice in my backyard. were talking maybe 15m's, It makes more noise than I want and it make building a backstop harder! I could go with a Anschutz but that is way out of my budget right now. I'm even considering better quality airsoft for that reason; maybe something in a basic AR-15A2/3 to start getting me prepared for DCM.
I was so hoping to get into DCM this year but that will have to wait until maybe 2010. At least can still compete with my Swedish M38 although I'll have to real practice my stripper clip reloads for the rapid-fire stages.
