Well dang hasn't it been a weird week in games...

I think I might've felt my brain go sideways when I first saw the announcement about Cloud coming to Smash. While it's not my intention to take what joy some people may have about that, somehow it just seems a bit wrong to me. Cloud kind of represented what some would have called the death kneel for the Nintendo 64, that is with Square jumping ship to Sony's consoles, but then again it would seem Square rarely acknowledges Final Fantasy pre-VII anyways. And while I could complain about how un-Nintendo the character is,  SolanusDracon did remind me about Snake in Smash Brawl, so... ker-shrug and all that.

Sake of saying though, wouldn't have Edgar from VI had made a much better character though? We got enough swordsmen so far, how about someone who'd lend to a more technical/control skillset like MegaMan or Duckhunt Dog? (Or Sabin, if his Final Smash was to Suplix a train onto the battlefield)

Of course then, it wouldn't do to not leave my head spinning with an attempted revival of... Bubsy? Of all characters. My own history with the character is a bit more sorted; in less generous terms I coin it as when my childhood died and I finally came to realize what manufactured personality was. So we're bringing back a relic from the early 90s that most of us would rather forget why?

Strange days indeed. But it's not like SNES games are appearing on PSN before they go up for sale on the 3DS eShop.... right?
