The software is called StepMania and a friend gave me most of the song/step data, but there are collections and libraries of song downloads I bet you can still find out there. I put the 5th mix skin and announcer mods on. You can play it with the keyboard and even make your own songs!
The pads were for PS2 so I had to buy a special part (called EMS Controller) that converts PS2 to USB... and tracking down the drivers to map the input data to joystick was easier said than done (all the instructions were in Japanese). I put the whole system together about 8 years ago so I have no idea how easy it is to find them now. But PS3 onwards is USB so I'm sure it's a hellva lot easier these days than my ghetto setup!

I'll be sure to look into looking for it and will let you know how things turn out. I'm hoping there shouldn't be any trouble, but if push comes to shove for the software and the librarys, we can always meet at MFF at some point.
