(WIP 1) College Drawing Class - Pencil Self-Portrait
This is the final assignment for my Drawing 1 class. A bit surprised that I'm getting to use pencil for this. But hey. Better than using charcoal. I guess it's coming out okay so far.

I've never done a pencil drawing of my own face so I'm just nervously shaking before I can even put the pencil on the paper. If I manage to map out the shadows correctly, I should be fine. That's what I had to do for the lips. I struggle too much with that for my own good. Maybe some day I will overcome that issue. Pencil seems to be my more preferred medium since it's easier to erase than charcoal.
Oh yeah. The soft core pencils are hell for me. They piss me off because of how easily they break why you drop them accidentally or when you're sharpening them. They crumble so easily and I cry just looking at them fall apart. Art materials falling apart is horrifying to me. XD And yeah, the only way to really smudge your drawing is if your hands are a bit greasy and the you have pre-existing pencil smudges on your hand. It's awful sometimes. XD
I still love these progress pics so much. I love the final result, and I love seeing where you started. You are so so beautiful, and now I have found out that you not only are an incredible artist, and beautiful lady, but you have a fantastic soulful singing voice <3
