correct but not all ways are corners the best exspecially for time outs. if black plays t1 white is threatened and knows not to play if white does play the outcome would be in blacks favore. very good this puzzle is a 22kyu level have you played befor?

Not exactly, I have played Othello a few times and was using the same theory.
