Yeah, the wheels weren't that great. But I liked the rest of it.

I love the patina, and the body looks straight. not much love for the Fairlanes, especially the wagons.

It was really solid. I looked it over. I love Fairlanes. My mom had two 1965 4 door's when I was a kid. I miss them a lot.

1965, actually. My roommate has that same car (it was the white one in the parking lot on Friday). We went for the swap meet but didn't look at the cars much. Oh, wait--I just read that this is the one that was in September. We were at the one in November in Phoenix. I thought it would be fun to attend one in a fursuit, but it was still 90 degrees out, so I guess it's probably too hot all year here for that.

It is a 66, I looked it up. The 65 had horizontal headlights and a round front. Bet you were hot in that fursuit.

Some early 1965s had horizontal headlights, but most had stacked headlights. In 1966 they made the tops of the fenders rounder. I don't have a fursuit, but think it would be fun to wear one to car shows and such. But it's always too hot in Phoenix.

The horizontal headlight 1965s are rare. Most looked like the one above. Those fenders are too square for 1965.

Thats a Galaxie not a Fairlane.

To be fair, that station wagon in your picture is not a Fairlane. It's a Country Sedan, basically the wagon version of the Galaxie.

I don't mean to come across as a know-it-all. It's just that my roommate has a 1965 Country Sedan and we're always looking for parts for it. In 1966 they had subtle changes that make it look a bit different. My grandmother also had a 1965 Custom 300 with the stacked headlights. I think that the Fairlanes may have all had horizontal headlights in 1965, so to say that all 1965 Fairlanes had them may be correct. The wagon pictured isn't a Fairlane, though. But I have seen 1965 Fairlane wagons with horizontal headlights.

I understand. But the Galaxie and Fairlane shared similar body styles. In 1966 Ford styled the Fairlane to look like a Galaxie. Why I don't know. The owner of that car said it was a Fairlane.

The owner of the wagon is mistaken if he thinks it's a Fairlane. It clearly says Country Sedan on the fender and is in no way a Fairlane. The Fairlane and Galaxie may have looked similar in 1966. But it seems that they were different in 1965. The wagon in your photo is definitely a 1965 as they didn't have those fenders, lights, or grille in 1966.
