I read the book that the movie is based on, but I've yet to watch the movie because I've heard it doesn't do the book much justice.

i didn't even know there was a book, but its always hard, i've read enders game dozens of times, seeing the movie drove me insane with just how ruthless the cutting of content was. The only series that did a book > movie transition well is the harry potter series i feel

The book is called "The True Meaning of Smekday" and to this day I still think it's one of the best "children's" books out there. It's light-hearted and funny enough for a child to enjoy, but it has enough dark undertones for an older audience to appreciate as well. They didn't even keep the main alien's name from the book, O's original name was J. Lo because he saw on television that some celebrity named "J. Lo" was super popular and he wanted to have that name too, not knowing or caring that they were talking about a female celebrity.

Thanks, i'll have to finda copy of that to read, and i kinda understand the jlo thing, i mean J lo is in it but mabye there was legalese or she just didn't want her name used for it. who knows
