I take it he follows the standard fantasy armor law. The lest clothing a fantasy character has on, the less damage the character takes.
The only exception to this rule is a character that dresses in full black armor and wears a cape who can usually be seen slaughtering other characters in one hit.

(I thought it was unfair; she argued that it distracted me from the game... but really, I've been drawing during lessons all my life and it never distracted me - my teacher even said so, but that I DID distract my class mates. XD)
