Beautiful set! I've always wanted a classic old TRF style receiver, but I'd never find them with tubes, which at that age are astronomical prices.

Many sell without the tubes, the tubes are sometimes worth more then the radio, I have seen some adapted for transistors or cheaper tubes, Battery eliminators are available, I have one but haven't tried it yet, not much here on am. The transoceanic does pick up wsm grand ole oprey, and occasionally an oldies station from Canada. Haven't AM DXed in a while, need to put up an aerial.
