What can be said of Giran? He's the first dino/dragon fella who I know of who pretty much battles about and makes me wish he would've been part of the original Z Squad.
But hey, that's why fanart and alternate universes exists, depending on the person. In my case: he is far more bigger and far more powerful than Goku. (And wingless, because god dangit do I hate drawing wings.)

I don't think he became "nice" exactly. I mean, he did go after a small animal village, steal a kid's fish, and then threatened to hurt them (before Tambourine killed him). Plus there is that whole episode with Nam pleading to them to break the dam so his village could get water (Although I think that episode is filler). I still sorta like the guy, but...he's still a big jerk. :P
