"Well, shit." Gilian clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. This was definitely not what he had attended. Granted, nothing seemed to work the way he wanted when Kissaki, the deity of ice was involved in any of the missions he was assigned to do. Definitely when it had come to retrieve a specific item from a so called pup who happened to be a lot stronger than he appeared.

“You seem to be lost in thought, Lord of Wind.” A deep, monotone voice echoed across the sky, causing the blood in Gilian’s veins to boil even more than they had been since the fight had started. Black flames had scorched the earth below, eating, devouring everything in it’s wake like the gluttonous pig it was. Standing amongst the flames in the middle of a pentagram that span several miles, was a lone black wolf. Though his appearance looked that of a twenty year old, what had spoken was an entity that age vastly surpassed Gilian, and with an ego that might even trump his as well. “I had thought you had truly wanted this artifact from Zephyr. Shame that you’re giving it up, I had thought you would had at least given me a challenge.”

"Well aren’t you a shit talker." Gilian thought. “Nah, just wondering how someone as ancient as you found yourself stuck in a boy’s body.” Gilian said, trying to drag out the conversation a bit. He needed more time to create a set of runes to counter that damn pentagram, it was causing his sealing runes to have no freaking effect on the Avatar, as the entity inside Zephyr liked to call himself. Since the start of their battle, they had been in a stand still. The Avatar couldn’t exhort as much power as Gilian, but he sure as fuck could use those black flames to help balance the odds. Which made it hard for a wind user like Gilian.

“Hmph. That’s not something I truly wish to discuss with a dragon that had come, seeking to steal from us.”

“Now, stealing and borrowing are two different things! I would like to point that out!”

The Avatar laughed before sporting a shit eating grin. Lovely, that was never good sign. Suddenly the black flames across the earth grew more violent, making every inch of Gilian’s scales feel like they were being melted off. Without hesitating, Gilian quickly slashed out with his sword, sending out waves of lightning to explode outwards, warding off the black flames that had seemed to form from nothing around Gilian. A cold sweat dripped from Gilian’s brow as a smirk danced across his eyes. “Nice try. Though, I wouldn’t mind if you might not try to roast me so eagerly.”

“That ability of yours to sense my attacks coming is quite annoying. Though, it makes things fun.” The Avatar said, readying his blade as his eyes narrowed at Gilian.
Sighing inwardly, the dragon kept his smile as he swore that he would force Kissaki to do all his fucking paperwork for the destruction that he was causing just for this stupid mission. Rising his paw, he watched as the winds beckon to his call and the thunder boomed across the darken sky. “Well, on to the finale!”
