Life's A Chibi: Peace
I know this is late on current events, but it took me some time to try to figure out how to display and treat this image. I had to be careful that I wasn't stepping over toes or my bounds or others beliefs, especially since it dealt with national and symbolic flags. On each flag is a different word for PEACE.
I did this right after the I heard about the attack and made sure my friends who lives in France are ok.
I wanted to do something nice and sweet involving America, Syria, and France. Figuring out the animals for both Syria and France was a bit hard, but I'm happy with my choices.

In my opinion, it cannot happen having people believing in fairy tales around. Ideologies must be controlled sooner or later or the wrong weapons and arsenal will fall into political or religious zealots.
We are all driven by the need to reproduce and a bigger one that is the one to bring death, as Freud stated. Religions do seem built on that, along with unhealthy sense of superiority and impugnity.

Thanks! I just have too much time to think about things like these.
In the end, religions and politics are born to bring judgement on the individual and the groups.
Mayhem starts when these judges ("god" in religions, and organizations in atheist nations), based on their borders, have such moral differences they end up indoctrinating their members to think things like "all infidels/gays/immigrants/Narwhals must die/have no rights."
And then these methods of control and representations of order become the exact opposite.
In the end, the key to having a truly ethic moral system applicable to all of humanity may depend on the capable individual, that that is able to keep his natural instinct to shed blood in check, to reign over the incapable, even if from the shadows and subtly. Ironically, for the better good. Even if it has to be through a new religion, if necessary.
"God was a dream of good government [...]. If there was no God, it would be necessary to invent him."

Ironically it is politics I've chosen as my go-to area of operations to find something resembling the moral systems with what one would precieve to correct values. Sure it has major flaws and what I precieve to morally 'correct' differs greatly from someone with a more right-wing point of view for example, but sadly there isn't going to be an alternative during my lifespan. And before I start rambling on with a first year philosopy train of thought that is bound to crash, I would like to invite you to continue this conversation elsewhere. If that is alright with you, naturally.
Heh. I've had an idea for some science fiction revolving around this concept rolling around in my head for years now. Basically, a future where religious ideologies are carefully regulated and monitored by the government of Earth and the closer colonies, vs a more independent and freedom-minded mindset of deeper colonies. Ideally I wanted to write it in a way that portrays the strengths and weaknesses of both philosophies while demonizing neither.
Anywho, it's not too difficult to imagine a world where apocalyptic events occur due to religion that cause the peoples of Earth to become far more skeptical of unregulated religion far down the line. At least, it doesn't seem like a far fetched idea to me.

It is unfortunate that such turmoil has arisn. The situation in Syria was the breaking point, now there is a surge of refugees that have migrated in numbers not seen sice the Second World War. In all honesty it would have been better to support governmental forces when that civil war started, now a few years later it rages on and still causes anguish. I can only wish that a resolution can be made after the multinational efforts to exterminate ISIS in the region.
