While regular synx are infamous for stealing away children, the slightly bigger ones 'Weepers' are prone to attacking and consuming perfectly healthy adults. When a synx reaches this size they often decide to forgo their parasitic nature and become hunters exclusively, which is very unhealthy. The body of a synx is not made to live exclusively in the outside world, but some survive and live the rest of their lives with horrible bacterial infections that cause them to bleed from every orifice. This is why this class of synx is called a weeper, because they appear to be crying. In actuality that is the clear, gooey blood of their bodies oozing out of their eye sockets.
Elongated jaws are a clear indication of repetitive stress: a lot of pulling and violence must take place in this synx's jaws. Likewise the elongated hands are also signs of impressively violent feedings and conflict with heavy meals.

Bleeding from the eyes? Does that mean it's going to fall in love with House? (5 pts for the ref)
(P.S. - you might want to color the link, in order to make it stand out. I know, I should do the same, but it helps)
I would make more comments, but after having just watched 'I am Legends' I can't help but want to expose it to UV.

Actually, they aren't really hinged to begin with =D I never did finish the sketch of their skeletal structure, but it's... umm, different. They got a similar bone structure to us, but it's all just kind of floating there in a sea of muscle and meat. What keeps them humanoid-like and stops them from turning into a blob of flesh is the fact that their entire skeleton is covered in what looks like gooey spider webbing; all connected together. Its firm, but stretches, and mostly bounces back to the original shape. You could probably feel this stuff if you pressed into one with your hand; like squishy bungee cords!
As for their muscles, they can stand these seemingly impossible movements because they are all similar to the tongue in their rang of motion and structure. This means they can even move by themselves, so it's not uncommon to see the meat in their arms and legs moving by itself... D= D=

it's like cristmas every time you make one of these i swear
either that or everytime a synx is born an angel gets digested in a thunderstorm
wich btw brings up a mighty derp question
how is synx formd?
budding,fission? viral conquest?
i swear you answerd this already(something along the lines of A MYSTERY!!)
but i dun remeber
also holy fuck, more abstract bio notes plz
and mucal blood, did not know that
also also, thank god people know how to include adverse effects of the enviorment on their critters
god
last question, you said this synx could take an adult human, is that only in self defense? or for feeding purposes?

Yes, that is what I said, and that is how it still stands. XD
Ok more notes:
Because their blood is as thick as mucus, obviously a regular human-like heart wouldn't realistically do the job. So rather then one large heart, they have several smaller ones along the length of their body.
They can technically live with their heads lopped off... but don't automatically think zombie. Think cockroach, or even chicken. Yeah, not very useful at all! =D
That stuff on their neck is NOT hair, they don't have a need for hair. It is sticky and changes in moisture; think cotton candy. It's use will be displayed very clearly in the commissioned pic being uploaded soon, and it will make perfect sense why they have had this crap on their neck from the start of their design. Every anatomical trait they have has a purpose.
And yes, for feeding purposes this synx can and does take adult humans.... which will also be displayed in the commissioned pic <3

awwwwsommme
hmm ass for the fluff on their neck, just a geuss but cillia?
i could see it being usefull for pushing trough the organ meat of a larger critter without haveing things like arms and legs get in the way or poke the host in a way that might either give away the synx's position or kill it
and yeah i friggin KNEW i asked that before XD

If you really want to know about the neck tuft:
Synxes are in the practice of medicine, and they apply this practice to their food. Synxs eat like alligators. This means if you are not big enough to swallow, you are being eaten in swallowable chunks. This also means once the Synx’s stomach is full the rest is not wasted, but saved for later. An alligator saves the rotting carcass, but Synxes like their food warm, moving and preferably making lots of unhappy noises. Your bloody stumps will be covered in sticky white clay; clay made from their neck tuft. It is sticky, and like cotton candy changes consistency when wet. It turns to adhesive dough, something the synx can paste onto you. It dries quickly and forms a firm rubber plug over what ever it’s on. This means you won’t get the luxury of bleeding to death! The limbs are most likely always eaten first as well, that way all the vitals stay intact and the meal survives till the next feeding.
The original intent is actually for the animals they burrow in. How else could they make a large hole in somethings body without that something bleeding to death or dying of infection! Luckly they are covered in antiseptic to, just like ants =D Nature is awesome

I for one welcome our ciliated, filigree-boned, rubbery overlords. Up to the point they start blithering on about football, that is! Do they have better topics of conversation? Science? Philosophy? The nature of existence as a beautiful parasitic, telescope-jawed monstrosity?
There still needs to be a range of malleable yet treacherous Synx toys with voices like Ali Shaw out of the Cranes.

Multicellular organismal mitosis!
When one gains enough mass/bodyfat(?)/stockpiled nourishment, then it slowly begins to replicate itself by splitting in half. With such a large, complex creature, it would probably take a long time, splitting along a lengthwise fissure.
Imagine a week into it: a two-headed, split-chested synx, separating from itself along a jagged seam running down its midline: rib from rib, tendon from tendon, organ from organ....It'd be quite a show.

I just really want to see a Synx face in the process of dividing, halfway into the separation phase. Cleft jaws, three eye-sockets, possibly with two nictated eyeballs in the middle hole, lips stretched to cover two juxtaposed sets of teeth.... It'd be like that charred body that they find at the Norwegian camp in John Carpenter's "The Thing"
Stop being so damn popular.
Also love the psuedo primate hands and the jutting rear of the jaw in particular. Lip makes me think of someone trying to make a retard face though for some reason... Fuck if I know why though. But were all retards in our own way, this Synx is just so damn hardcore, it doesn't care who sees its inner tard.
Also, sumbitch, I swear I was watching you before. And I find myself really curious to know more about your feelings on vore as well, since you know, its rare to find people who do not puss out on the subject and actually view it for twisted and taboo act it should be, gotta forgive me if you posted about this all somewhere else, I don't get out much.

You know about those reported "miracles" of statues of the virgin Mary crying blood?
I never understood how that was supposed to be a miracle. If I saw a statue crying blood, my first thought would not be "OH THIS IS A SIGN OF GOD'S LOVE AND WE MUST WROSHIP HIM IN ALL HIS GLORY," but "HOLY SHIT THERE ARE GHOSTS IN THE HOUSE KILL IT WITH FIRE!"

I love the detials you put into your pictures yet again makes it perfect, especialyl at your bashing of various things during the whole thing, makes it wonderful. Interesting detials you gave, which will be helpful to me in the future (though be it distant future at current rates) nice work on this thing that will go bump in the night just so it can eat a good helpless meal.
*shits* THOSE HANDS ARE AWESOME. I've always loved the long finger thing, but the long HAND thing is totally different!
I love the mouth, the teeth, THE BULDGE, and overall it's the best chimera looking thing I HAVE EVER SEEN. I LOVE THAT THING.
I'll have to draw it soon, if you dont mind. <3

Yet again, you amaze me with your detailed character designs. The amount of story and fact that you post along with the picture.. Really makes it that much better.
As an amateur zoologist, I think it'd be interesting to know how such an efficient creature evolved or came into being. I'd be interested in knowing what it's ancestors (if it had any and wasn't just one day 'there') looked like.

Thats just kind of how they grow for the most part. As for entry, it's never a real issue. They pull their horns off before they do that =D They are like giant finger nails, not bones. The base of each one is actually a nub-like part of the skull that is mobile, like a big, flat stubby finger. It helps them move through flesh by using their head to pull.
