"Sly walked into the building proudly. He gave off a presence of confidence as he moved. The building was broken into two big rooms. A waiting room area, and the mayors’ actual office. Typically this room would be filled with people waiting to speak with him about different things, but today was a bit different. He was expecting Sly and wasn’t taking any unannounced visitors. Behind a desk sat a pink furred kitsune. Her kimono sleeves flowed beneath her as she turned from the cabinet she was attending to face the male as he approached. “Ah Lord Sly. It’s good to see you.” she said calmly, brushing the long pink and green hair from in front of her eyes. “It’s good to see you as well Katsaya. How have you been?” he asked. “I have been well. I will be right with you as soon as I finish this.” she replied as she returned to her work. “Take your time. I am a bit early for the meeting.” he said.

Maneki sat in the carriage. Part of her was glad that he hadn’t made her join him. But at the same time a small part of her wondered simply “Why?” What is he going to be talking to the mayor about that he didn’t want her to hear? Maybe it had to do with the true reason he captured her and Luck. Whatever it was, it was sure to be important, and she wasn’t going to let him hide anything from them. A determined look flashed in her eyes as she made up her mind on what she would do. Slowly she opened the carriage door and slipped out without a sound. She crouched on the ground and moved underneath the vehicle so she wouldn’t draw the attention of the driver. Moving from under the carriage behind it she peered over the top. The driver was sitting facing forward. The male mouse was ogling a pair of women walking out of the tavern and down the street. Maneki took this as her chance and pulled up her hood as she moved around the side of the mayor’s office building.

Maneki walked alongside the side of the building, making sure to duck under any windows before continuing. She came around back and came across a small storehouse. She smiled to herself as she looked up and saw that one of the shutters above her was in disarray. “Just like before…” she said softly as she prepared herself. The calico quickly jumped and pulled herself up onto the shed before extending her claws. She scaled the side of the small building up to the shutter. Even without her enchanted clothes to make her lighter; she was both flexible and strong enough to get in with relative ease.

The shutter made a small knocking sound as she entered the attic rafters through the opening. She stopped to catch her breath for a few seconds as she looked around. Last time she came in here she was looking for a trinket belonging to the mayor’s secretary and used this entrance to sneak up on her. The kitsune left the locket on her desk when she was called by the mayor, and by the time she’d returned; both the locket and the calico were long gone. Now she would use this chance to spy on her new “Master” and see what it is he’s really up to. “Thank you for waiting Lord Sly. The mayor will see you now.” came a familiar voice below her. Maneki looked down through the wooden rafters and spoted Sly standing with Katsaya. She cracked an amused smile to herself when she spotted the locket the female kitsune was wearing. It was the same one that she’d stolen. “Guess she got it back.” thought the calico to herself. She watched Sly enter the mayor’s office and moved along the rafters silently to follow him. The rafters above the mayor’s office were boarded more heavily, offering the calico a chance to get comfortable. She peered down through a hole in the board and settled in to watch the meeting."
