Yea this is something differen from the usual more cheery pics i do, i felt like doing something that expresses how i feel this time of year and generally to get some depressions of my chest i had again lately
I really hate winter, it's cold, it's dark and it makes me feel lonely (i live in a small village in the hills, even light snow can cause the streets to become unpassable sometimes)
The background isnt directly taken from a real place around here but my area pretty much looks like this, in fact this could be just beyond our back yard... it's a wonderfully view in summer really
PS: The "socks" are ment to be very flexible boots really but now that the word socks is out...

I don't know why people like it so much.
Wondrous coloring by-the-way!

The bugs are annoying but to me warm weather and fresh air make up for it again, in winter i just cant open my window and all... and even if i dont really spend too much time outside i love sunlight and i just dont get that in winter... as soon as the leafs turn reder my mood kinda drops with it, maybe that partly explains my depressions

Don't worry; you have to learn to see the beauty in winter before you can truly come to enjoy it.
...Though it DOES help to do it from someplace warm, or when you're all bundled up and cozy. ^^

you did a nice job, the feet are excellent.
I personally prefer the cold as it can be escaped by something like a hot bath, layers of clothes, a warm heart (as for the last one, I've only heard of it...).
That... and the severe heat of summer can cause me lapses of panic and unrational thinking...

I miss when it was comfortable to go outside...
Being a Floridian, summer is important to me... but my parents dragged me to Minnesota... before that, I'd never seen snow...
Heh... the cold really sucks, and the summers aren't really that warm, but at least there are people here that are friendly. ^^

A rather melencholy feeling there. But peaceful too.
This wuff much prefers the warmer months as well, but it's nice to be in a place with seasons (even if Vargr does gripe about having to shovel the Winter one out of his drive). Having been where the change only occured in the calendar on the wall, the wariation outside does add spice and interest to the year, and makes Vargr appreciate the warm times even more.

I don't see what's with all the season-hating. Just get used to the motions by now! I lived in an arid climate for over 18 years even though I hate the 100 degree heat. Now I adapted to my hot temperatures and I'm used to the joys that summer brings. It's rare for me to see a white winter like I had throughout this week. I wish I can enjoy it more but there's only one place to sled.
But I'm just rambling now. I really like how thought-provoking this piece of art is. It shows someone thinking under the tree; we see his thoughts and that makes the viewer think along with the subject. I love the emptiness and fog in the foreground and background, giving it a surreal kind of feeling. It's like even though Daniel misses warmth of summer, the beauty of snow is almost a focal point here showing winter can be beautiful too. Of course, you hate winter so it's not really a focal point. It's just there for effect. Ha ha.
I really like the clothes Daniel is wearing. I always did like how you make up concepts and items for this universe you made, your "glove-shoes" being the main example that everyone and their mother is noticing. Heh heh.
One thing bugs me though, shouldn't the be some sort of print if Daniel's legs and tail is resting in the snow? I'm not sure how firm the snow is over there in Germany, but I'm pretty sure a tail that big and heavy would leave a snow-print.
Overall, great picture. It makes me want to get out my sled again and go to the big hill at my old Middle School. I might give that a shot tomorrow.

I hate the cold as well. My pet peeve lacks in the inability to stay warm.. i pile on long underwear, think pants, long shirt, jacket, hat, etc etc etc... and while my body and legs are sweating up a storm in the self imposed 90 degree heat, my face and hands and so forth are either in pain, or numb entirely, with the cold. Also, if I go from cold to hot too fast, I end up with a rash on my legs. At least in the summer, you're uniformly hot. And bugs never bother me, neither. I think its because my mom smoked a lot when I was a kid, and nicotine is a pesticide.
I'm sorry to hear you're not content with the season; I'm a winter man myself. I love the longer nights and the rich chill of your flesh when you leave the warmth of your house and go into the night air.
You've got a strong emotion here, probably one of your strongest pieces here. I think you probably could have communicated a very similar feeling without the text.

so you get the same feeling huh? It's kinda strange for me though since I live in Sweden we're supposed to not become like that but well I guess I get a lot more energy from the sun and all that stuff, I donno I guess I jsut feel a lot more up and about when there's light outside rather then just a black sky staring back at me and the only light are from my lamp here in my room...it's just not the same if you get what I mean?
Kinda can agree with you. Altho I pretty much live in what some consider the "German Toscana" (don't ask my why they consider this place that nice, please...) and we are pretty much usually surrounded by smooth Winters here, we still got a bad slash this past one. =/ And yea, while the gray in the sky and the bleakness of the landscapes might give an empty feeling, you still can count on peeps on here to keep you some (if rather distant) company on times :) And hey, by now (slowpoke as I am) it's already going warm anyway, so you made it through the Winter once more :D
